Why WebP files still miss upload caps
WebP is already efficient, but design exports and full-bleed heroes can still weigh hundreds of kilobytes—or more—when the canvas is huge. A CDN rule or ticket system that only accepts “under 100 KB” doesn’t care that the format is modern.
This page keeps the picker and output on WebP so you don’t accidentally convert a site asset to JPG unless you choose a shared image target page that does.
Options that matter for WebP
Max longest side
Marketing heroes rarely need a 4000px edge for a card or blog thumbnail. Cap at 1920px for desktop heroes, 1280px for content images, or 800px for tight form uploads.
Quality / KB target
Start near 70–80% for everyday web use. Turn on a KB target when the instructions print a number. Soft detail is the trade-off for tiny caps— use Compare to judge.

Will quality drop a lot?
Mild settings for web and chat previews usually look fine. Harsh KB targets need a smaller max edge first. Use Compare before you download.
Should I resize or lower quality first?
For large exports, cap the longest side first (1920px or 1280px). Resizing often cuts more weight than quality alone—then dial quality or a KB target.
Can I hit a max size like 100 KB?
Turn on “Aim for a max file size,” enter the limit, and press Reduce. We’ll chase that ceiling. Extreme targets may soften fine detail.
Can I batch several WebP assets?
Yes. Add multiple files, set Options once, reduce together, then download a ZIP. Retry any soft-looking item after tweaking max edge.
